Thin and thick document scanning...up to
50 inches wide |
Scanning needs are not always limited to convenient
paper-thin media. In the reprographics industry there is a growing need
to digitize or copy images printed or pasted on thicker media such as
cardboard, foamboard, gatorboard, etc. To support these needs, Océ
CS4000 scanners allow the user to easily change the insertion slot space
on the scanner from 0 to 0.6" (0 to 15 mm) to fit the thickness of the
original, thus adding an extra dimension to scanning possibilities.

Six scanning modes to process all types
of applications in both B&W and color |
Most color scanners enable RGB (24 bit) and B&W
scanning modes. However, additional scanning modes are needed to process
all types of originals whether they are B&W or color, complex or simple
color documents, or new or old documents. The Océ CS4000 series offers 6
scan modes to enable the users to select the desired mode depending on
the original type. |
Océ CS4000 series is one of the fastest
scanners in its class |
The Océ CS4000 series uses a different technology
that makes it the fastest scanner in its product range, with a speed up
to 2.6" per second. Color feature extraction, black and white 2D
adaptive threshold mode, on-board real time color correction, 2-D color
sharpening and softening and SCSI interface are some of the advanced
technologies that contribute to the speed.

High scanning resolution yields
high-quality images for every application |
The Océ CS4000 series scanners give you the
capability to scan up to 800 dpi and as low as 50 dpi. The choice of
resolution ensures optimum handling of all your drawings. Use lower
resolutions to reduce file size for posters and maps. Higher resolutions
provide the detail required for documents with fine lines and enhanced
images. These high resolutions and a full 36-bit color depth give you
the assurance of outstanding image quality. |

Color Calibration, Color Linearization &
ICC Profiles -- more features to maximize your productivity |
For critical color reproduction, the Océ CS4000
series offers an automated color calibration tool to give you consistent
and predictable scanning results every time. Furthermore, the Océ
scanners feature a user-friendly calibration of color linearity and
color balance based on the IT8 standard target that is shipped with the
scanner. It will automatically compute the color tone transfer table
between the scanned and theoretical values and apply it when scanning.

Maximize your versatility -- add value to
your business with the scan-to-view, scan-to-file, scan-to-copy,
archiving and accounting standard features |
Expand Your Color Business -- bring the
right solution to your professional business |
Océ is committed to providing state-of-the-art
tools. We'll help you handle color maps, posters and display panels,
right up to full-color photographic originals, black-and-white and
grayscale materials, monochrome CAD and other line work. Scanning
materials, whether flexible or mounted on rigid boards, can easily be
handled by the Océ CS4000 series. |
Optimize the performance of your
technical drawings -- bring your scan images to the next level with the
Color Feature Extraction
To maximize the accuracy of color reproduction and
keep color scan file sizes under control, the Océ CS4000 scanner series
has a unique color object extraction function that reduces all colors to
a restricted set of colors defined in a color look-up table. All scanned
input is then referred to the specified standard colors only. This
solution is ideal for originals using a limited and specific range of
colors, such as technical drawings, maps or corporate identity
materials. |
Expand Your Application Format Library --
more than 50 different file formats |
The Océ color-scanning module supports more than 50
different file formats. These formats can be organized into different
groups, which ensure cooperation with most graphics, publications, CAD
and GIS applications.
Increase Your Monochrome Scanning
Productivity -- advanced black and white scanning process |
The Océ CS4050 scanner line features a high speed
Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that enables the scanner to perform a
double threshold control operation on the fly (no need for
pre-scanning). This process increases your black and white scanning
productivity since no manual setting or pre-scan is needed. It further
increases the scan quality since the background control (threshold) is
variable, thereby allowing the scan of very old documents that may
feature multi-level background noise. |
